The female version of Frankenhooker (1990), directed by Frank Henenlotter, is a classic B-level film that combines Gothic elements with black comedy. The film tells the absurd story of mad scientist Jeffrey attempting to piece together the "Perfect Woman" from Hooker's body fragments after his girlfriend passed away unexpectedly. The aesthetic of the protagonist's character continues Frankenstein's tradition of reinvention, but is symbolized by neon colors, vulgar makeup, and exaggerated performances, presenting a mix of bizarre and sexy visuals. The shape of the heroine is more like the symbol of New York night life in the late 1980s: strong purple eye shadow, electric mini skirt, rigid steps and mechanized smile, pushing the theme of cyberspace and desire materialization to the edge of absurdity.
